Three teenagers are under arrest after police in Webster say they found illegal drugs and a weapon in their car during a traffic stop.
Three teens, Nico Cassata, 19, of Bayton Drive, Rochester; Hailee Winston of Turner Road, Palmyra; and Tiffany Backus, 18, of Blossom Road, Newark, N.Y., are facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in the area of Hard, Shoecraft and Ridge roads about 4:40 a.m. Dec. 16 by Webster Police Sgt. Jason Thomas.
According to a release issued by the Webster Police Department, during the course of the traffic stop and subsequent DWI investigation, an illegal handgun and illegal drugs were located within the stopped vehicle. The drugs included cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.
All three were arraigned Dec. 18 in Webster Town Court by Town Justice David Corretore.
All three were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a B felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Cassata was also charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a D felony.
Winston was also charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and failure to keep right, a violation.
Cassata was remanded to Monroe County Jail on $20,000 cash bail.
Winston and Backus were each remanded to Monroe County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
