Rochester Academy of Music and Arts recently organized and hosted its third annual food drive for Foodlink, a certified nonprofit organization committed to fighting hunger in Rochester.
Students of all ages worked together to collect 2,511 pounds of canned and nonperishable goods, all of which will go to local families in need.
Academy Director of Operations Brigid Harrigan worked closely with Foodlink to coordinate the annual food drive.
“This has been a great activity for our students, as it helps show them how great it feels to give back,” Harrigan said. “An important part of being a family friendly organization is seizing opportunities to help support families who are in a time of need.”
Foodlink estimates that the donation has provided over 2,000 complete, healthy meals for local families.
