Over 100 people and dozens of schools and companies recently provided gifts for over 750 people in the Rochester community through Catholic Family Center’s Adopt-a-Family program.
Program supporters assisted 154 families, including 253 adults and more than 500 children.
Donations such as bikes, balls, Barbies, clothing, winter wear and food were assembled one family at a time for those in need over the holidays. The program included special food donations for children who would otherwise go hungry over the school break, since many rely on school meals to provide their main nutrition of the day.
Bay Trail Middle School donated a cargo van full of toys for kids in need on Christmas. Volunteers braved freezing temperatures to load everything in record time.
