The Little Italy Neighborhood Association recently announced that its fourth annual Galbani Little Italy Festival will be held Aug. 12-13 in downtown Rochester.
This will be the first Italian festival to be held in downtown Rochester in over 30 years. The festival has consistently drawn large crowds, with close to 10,000 people per night last year.
“We are absolutely thrilled and very honored to be able to bring our event to downtown Rochester,” said Silvano Orsi, festival president and neighborhood association CEO. “We are going to make it a very special occasion so that everyone who attends feels the true warmth and friendship of Italy. We look forward to the inclusion and participation of many other cultures as well. The city of Rochester’s willingness to support cultural events and projects downtown, like our event and La Marketa, is very attractive, and we’re very grateful to be part of the effort to bring these important cultural elements back to downtown.”
