Webster Theatre Guild will present a production of “Fiddler on the Roof” at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13, 2:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 and at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Webster Thomas High School, 800 Five Mile Line Road.
Set in the Russian Shetl of Anatevka in 1905, the story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives.
Fifteen children are included in the cast from Webster, Penfield, Fairport, Pittsford, Brighton, Williamson and other surrounding schools and communities.
Local talent J. Simmons is directing the production. Many of the adult actors are Rochester school teachers, including: Brian Bohrer, a Rush Henrietta music teacher who plays the lead Tevye; Mary Dubois, who teaches fifth grade in Brighton; and Kelly Jordan, who is a Pittsford Mendon High School choir teacher, where Anna Herman, playing Hodel, was a former student. Jordan’s daughter Ashley is also in the ensemble.
General admission is $15, with a group pricing of $13 for a minimum of 10 tickets.
