Yolickity, a self-serve frozen yogurt store, opens in Webster Plaza tomorrow, Saturday, April 14.

The store, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday, will be open year-round.

It is owned by Rochester native Brian Mendler, who attended SUNY Fredonia, and Buffalo native Jon Crabbe, now of Victor, and their families. While Yolickity is not the pair's first business venture, it is their first storefront.

Yolickity will have new flavors that will rotate in throughout the year, and will also offer nonfat, low-fat, gluten-free, no-sugar-added, Kosher-certified, and nondairy options.

“Our infatuation with frozen yogurt began about a year ago while on vacation in Florida,” Crabbe said. “A friend suggested we try the new frozen yogurt store instead of our traditional, ‘going out for ice cream,’ and promised, ‘It tastes better than ice cream and is much healthier!’”

“One visit and we were hooked,” Crabbe recalled. “We went for lunch the next day, and for dessert every night the rest of our vacation. Wow: A product that tastes better than ice cream, we serve ourselves, and is actually good for us? How is this possible? We have to bring this to Rochester!”
